5 Best Steps To Create And Advertise On TikTok

Steps to Create and Advertise on TikTok

Marketers are finding new platforms to roll out their marketing campaigns. From Facebook to Instagram, every platform is now targetted by advertisers and marketers to roll out their ads. TikTok, a popular content sharing platform, has started its ad services just like Facebook and Instagram. Although it is still in the beta phase, marketers can still use the services. In this blog, we will discuss the steps to advertise on TikTok.

1. Create a TikTok Ads Account

TikTok Ads is still in the beta phase, so the procedure of setting up ads is not entirely online yet. You need to visit the TikTok Ads dashboard and press the ‘Create an Ad’ button to create your first ad campaign. When you click the ‘Create an ad’ button, a form will pop up requesting details to set up your account. After you click on submit, a representative will contact you to help you set up your TikTok Ads account.

Note– It may take up to 48 hours to process your account.

2. Create a TikTok Ad Campaign

After the approval, open the TikTok Ads dashboard to start creating your first Ad Campaign. Press the “Campaign” button at the top of the page and then click the “Create” button. You will be redirected to a new page where you will have to put campaign objectives – whether you want to drive conversions, gain traffic, or app installs. Then give your Ad campaign a name and set the minimum budget. You will be provided with two choices Daily budget or Total budget, so choose according to your needs.
Note- The daily budget and total budget must be at least $500.

3. Set Your TikTok Ad Placements, Details, and Targeting

One of the most useful features of the TikTok Ads is that it lets users select the same platforms in which they would like to run their ads. These platforms include TikTok and its entire family of apps like Buzz Video, Vigo Video, News Republic, etc. There is an option for automatic placements of ads, where TikTok determines where your ad would look and perform best and places it accordingly.

4. Creating a New Ad

Once you have configured your ad group, you can start uploading your first ad. Ads can be uploaded as images or as videos. If you choose images, TikTok will convert them into a video for you. After creating an ad, you will have the option to preview it and get an idea of how it will appear to TikTok users.

If you are making videos, ensure that your videos meet the following specs:
● An aspect ratio of 9:16/1:1/16:9. The video’s duration should be 5 to 60 seconds, although 9 to 15 seconds is recommended.
● A resolution greater than 640px by 640px, 720px x 1280px, or 1280px by 720px.
● A description of your advertised service or product that is 12 to 100 characters in length.

5. Set Up Billing and Payment

Input your billing information and make the payment.
