ZTE Launching World's First Smartphone Under-Display Camera

What You Need To Know About The World’s First Under-Display Camera by ZTE:

ZTE is launching the world’s first smartphone with an under-display camera, commercially next month. It’s called the Axon 20 5G, which has a camera hidden under the display. This technology has been showcased previously by Oppo, Xiaomi, and other Chinese companies but ZTE is bringing it to mass-produced smartphones first.

Currently, most Smartphone’s including iPhones have display notches on Smartphone displays. ZTE claims that the Axon 20 5G will be the world’s first Smartphone to get rid of ugly display notches. The benefits of under-screen cameras are not known, however the front screen will be 100% bezel-less.

Sharing the best look of the Axon Smartphone

A specific time has not been set for the launch of the ZTE Axon 20 5G, and this is why the company is sharing the look of the Axon Smartphone through its Weibo handle. As expected, there is not a punch-hole on the display: it is all clean but is not rid of a thick bezel. The common method to ensure a no-hole display is to opt for pop-up cameras, but ZTE is taking a novel route.

ZTE Axon 20 5G teaser

ZTE Axon 20 5G teaser mocks those workarounds because the company launched several smartphones with notches. The mechanism on the under-display camera is quite technical, and they have a different setup. It is not known what process ZTE has employed for the under-display camera to capture photos. Moreover, as the process gets clear, the image quality from the camera is nascent.

For what it is worth, ZTE is correct about launching the first Smartphone with an under-display camera. There will be similar ones from Oppo, despite the fact they were the first to demonstrate it. But, Oppo will learn a lesson from Axon 20 5G, which they could use to rectify the flaws. In their under-display camera technology, they can add new modifications that will make the Smartphone more sellable.

ZTE Axon 20 5G features

ZTE Axon 20 5G, has four cameras in a vertical alignment, similar to the design on Realme phones. There is no periscope camera at the back but there could be a telephoto sensor, such as X3 SuperZoom. There is a wavy pattern at the back of the ZTE Axon 20 5G, but not much is known about the specifications of the ZTE Axon 20 5G. More features will be known in the coming days as the Smartphone comes to the shelf.

ZTE under-display 32-megapixel camera

ZTE under-display 32-megapixel camera has high transparency material that includes new organic films. It has optimized software algorithms to offset the impact on image quality. It’s hard to judge this without seeing the phone in person and camera in practice. Moreover, it’s questionable how much value the feature offers going by the price and warranties. This brings us to the end of our discussion on the world’s first under-display camera.
