What You Need to Know About Apple Watch Series 6<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Following the introduction of Apple Watch Series 5, Apple Watch Series 6 will expand the wearable\u2019s health capabilities. The following article contains information about the 2020 Apple Watch, including details on the replacement for the Series 3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Design<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Apple Watch Series 6 reports indicate that there aren\u2019t any major changes. The industrial design will follow the same general form factor as the Series 4 and Series 5. That being said, Apple<\/a> will offer new finishes, colors, and casing for the Apple Watch Series 6. Apple is debuting in an all-new titanium option, but possibilities include new colors for existing casing materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the changes introduced by the Apple Watch Series 6 will drop the hardware needed for Force Touch. The removal of Force Touch hardware could mean that can make the Apple Watch Series 6 thinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health Features<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

One of the features of this Apple’s Watch Series 6 is expected to be Blood Oxygen Level (BOL) detection. BOL between 95 percent and 100 percent is considered healthy. BOL below 80 percent leads to compromised heart and brain functionality. The risk of cardiac arrest is common after continued low blood oxygen saturation.\u00a0This feature would work similarly to the existing watch OS heart rate notification features. If Apple Watch detects a BOL below a certain threshold, it will trigger a notification for the user. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building on BOL detection, it is developing improved ECG capabilities for Apple’s Watch Series 6. Presently, Apple Watch Series 4 and 5 result in inconclusive ECG readings with heart rates 100 and 120 beats per minute. A future update will remove the limitation with an upgraded version of the ECG app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it is not clear if the new health feature will be limited to Apple’s Watch Series 6. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sleep Sracking<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Sleep tracking has been at the top of the my Apple Watch wish list, and this year\u2019s release of the OS 7 brings the health feature to fruition. The new Sleep app allows you to\u00a0set your schedule, and adjust settings for things like Wind Down and your Sleep Goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sleep tracking data is rather basic, but the tying in with features like Wind Down, makes for a sleek experience. The interesting part is that Apple’s Watch sleep tracking is not limited to the new Apple Watch Series 6. Though, more advanced sleep-tracking features could come to this year\u2019s Apple Watch exclusively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, Bloomberg\u00a0had reported that sleep tracking would be tied to new hardware. Even watch’s OS 7 brings sleep tracking support to all Apple Watch users.
