One can claim the credit for 50%, 20%, and 10% of the first $2,000 that they have to pay during the year to the retirement account. The maximum credit amount that a couple can file is $2,000. For married couples, filing jointly is $64,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. $48,000 for the head of household filers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. $32,000 for the rest of the taxpayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to claim savers credit<\/strong>: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To claim the saver&#8217;s credit, one needs to use Form 8880, named &#8220;Credit for Qualified Retirement Savings Contributions.&#8221; For the taxpayers before 2018, the savers&#8217; credit can be claimed using the Form 1040A or 1040NR. The IRS has included the guideline in form 1040EZ and that will instruct for further steps.
